A clandestine gold processing workshop has been uncovered in the Akmola region, where gold, cash and weapons were found. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Financial Monitoring Agency, the workshop was fully equipped for processing gold ore and extracting precious metals. During the search, authorities seized equipment for crushing and smelting ore, a 446-gram gold bar, 4 tons of gold-bearing material, 6 kg of mercury, as well as over 2 million tenge and 8,000 US dollars in cash. Additionally, weapons and ammunition were found.
Currently, all individuals involved in the illegal activity are being identified, along with the volume of illegally produced precious metals. The organizer of the clandestine workshop has been detained.
