In the Akmola region, fires of dry grass were extinguished in six districts and Stepnogorsk in one day. The total area affected by fire exceeded 69 hectares, the regional emergency department reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Fires were registered in Zhaksynsky, Ereymentausky, Tselinogradsky, Shortandinsky, Atbasarsky and Akkolsky districts, as well as in Stepnogorsk.
The extinguishing involved units of the emergency department, local executive bodies, rural rescue units from Novokubansky, Zaporozhye and Shalkar, the farm 'Meiramov', as well as the non-state fire service of LLP 'Opas'.
All fire sites were eliminated. No threat to settlements was allowed.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fires could be careless handling of fire.
The emergency department urged residents and guests of the region to comply with fire safety rules.
Earlier, 'Kursiv' wrote about a forest fire in the Kamyshen forestry of the 'Semey Ormany' reserve. Its extinguishing involved 769 people, 191 units of ground equipment and eight helicopters, which made 319 drops and delivered 709 tons of water to the site. The work was complicated by extreme heat, a high fire hazard class and difficult terrain.
