Over the past day, rescuers and foresters extinguished natural fires in six districts of Akmola region at once. In total, 67 hectares of dry grass burned. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to firefighters, the fire affected territories in Birzhan sal, Tselinograd, Atbasar, Akkol, Shortandy, and Zhaksy districts.
The main task of the emergency services and local akimats was to prevent the fire from spreading to populated areas. Over the day, the area covered by fire exceeded 67 hectares.
Units of "Aul kutkarushylary" from the village of Marinovka, the "Stepnogorskoye" forestry, and the "Kenes" forestry enterprise also took part in extinguishing the fire.
Thanks to coordinated actions, all hotbeds of dry grass ignition were eliminated.
The emergency department emphasized that the preliminary cause of the fire is careless handling of fire by the population.
"The Emergency Department of Akmola region urges residents and guests of the region to comply with fire safety rules. In case of an emergency, immediately call 101 or 112," the message says.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a forest fire in the East Kazakhstan region was contained only after 100 water drops from a helicopter. Aviation, ground specialized equipment, and over 200 people were involved in fighting the fire there.
Earlier, the Ministry of Ecology reported almost 50 forest fires per week. All hotbeds were promptly localized and eliminated, preventing the spread of fire.
