In Atyrau region, the case against Akbayan Mukangaliyeva, the wife of a man who killed his in-laws, has been dismissed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Akbayan Mukangaliyeva, the ex-wife of Sultan Sarsemaliyev, was extradited from Indonesia. Initially, she was charged with murder. However, the charge was dropped due to lack of corpus delicti. There was also suspicion of concealing her ex-husband's crime.
The police dismissed the case. Assistant prosecutor of the region Aisulu Suleimen stated: "As a result of the investigation, due to the failure to prove Article 434 of the Criminal Code (failure to report a crime) in Mukangaliyeva's actions, on June 24, 2026, on the basis of paragraph 2 of part 1 of Article 35 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the pre-trial investigation was terminated due to the absence of a criminal offense."
Thus, Mukangaliyeva will not be held accountable for the actions of her cruel husband, who killed her parents and siblings. According to the conclusion of the forensic psychological and psychiatric examination, Akbayan needs dynamic observation and additional differential diagnostics. She is currently undergoing treatment.
