Moscow has hosted the awards ceremony for the XII International Andrei Stenin Photojournalism Contest. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Grand Prix was won by Lebanese photographer Abdul Kader al-Bay. The international jury unanimously decided to award him the top prize in the "Main News. Photo Series" category for his photo series "Lebanon, 2024-2025: Life Between Airstrikes."
"In September 2024, Lebanon came under Israeli airstrikes. At that time, many people were forced to leave their homes. These photos were taken in various regions of Lebanon. They show what happened in the first seconds after the strikes and during rescue operations, the grief of ordinary people and how they try to survive," al-Bay said.
Along with the Grand Prix winner, winners in six categories were announced. In the "Main News. Single Photo" category, the work of Bangladeshi photographer S. Al Muztaba Rosul was recognized as the best. His photo "Canopy — Sky, Floor Made of Ashes" shows people who lost their homes in a fire, the strength of spirit, and the importance of mutual support and care.
