In the Altai Republic, a car carrying Kazakh citizens was involved in a road accident, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan citing the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of that country. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragic incident occurred on the evening of July 27 near the village of Aktash. A 31-year-old local woman driving a Toyota Avensis crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Chevrolet Nexia.
The Chevrolet Nexia contained five Kazakh citizens: a 40-year-old car owner, a 44-year-old woman, two men aged 63, and a 13-year-old girl. All were rushed to the hospital. However, two of them – a 40-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman – died from severe injuries.
A 21-year-old passenger in the Toyota Avensis was also hospitalized. The woman behind the wheel did not sustain serious injuries and did not require hospitalization.
During the investigation, it was found that the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol. She also did not have a driver's license, according to the official statement. A pre-trial investigation has been launched, and a procedural decision will be made based on its results.
