A women's carriage will be launched on the Almaty–Tashkent international route, according to Kazakhstan Railways JSC. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Starting October 1, for the first time, a women's carriage will run as part of the international train No. 1/2 "Almaty – Tashkent".

"This service is also in high demand among passengers on domestic railway routes. Since the launch of the women's carriage, more than 946 thousand passengers have used it," said Anuar Akhmetzhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Zholaushylar tasymal".

The train currently runs daily:

  • 01Departure from Almaty station – 19:05;
  • 02Arrival at Tashkent station – 12:53 (Tashkent time);
  • 03Departure from Tashkent station – 14:41 (Tashkent time);
  • 04Arrival at Almaty station – 08:51.

After the launch of the new carriage, the total number of women's carriages will reach 14:

  • 01No. 77/78 "Almaty – Mangystau";
  • 02No. 351/352 "Almaty – Mangystau";
  • 03No. 45/46 "Pavlodar – Turkistan";
  • 04No. 37/38 "Mangystau – Semey";
  • 05No. 47/48 "Atyrau – Astana";
  • 06No. 33/34 "Aktobe – Almaty";
  • 07No. 3/4 "Astana – Almaty";
  • 08No. 71/72 "Astana – Shymkent";
  • 09No. 353/354 "Astana – Semey";
  • 10No. 23/24 "Aktobe – Almaty";
  • 11No. 25/26 "Almaty – Shymkent";
  • 12No. 613/614 "Oral – Mangystau";
  • 13No. 81/82 "Nurly Zhol – Oral";
  • 14No. 1/2 "Almaty-2 – Tashkent".

In the women's carriage, boys up to seven years old are allowed to be accompanied. Tickets for these carriages are sold only to women, and only female conductors will serve passengers.

According to the national carrier, when purchasing tickets, passengers must inform the cashier of their choice of the women's carriage. Tickets can also be purchased online on the official website bilet.railways.kz. When booking, attention should be paid to the "ZhN" mark, indicating that the seat belongs to the women's carriage.
