A section of Tole Bi Street near the Sayran bus station will be partially closed due to the construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT). The closure affects the distance from Sain Street to Otarskaya Street in the eastern direction, the city administration reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Workers will be laying engineering networks. Several lanes on the street will be closed from 22:00 on June 20 until June 25. Then, from June 25 to June 30, work will be carried out on the opposite side of the road. During this time, reversible traffic will be organized on Tole Bi Street.

"Drivers are advised to plan their route in advance and comply with the requirements of temporary road signs," the press service of the akimat said.

Earlier, the akimat announced the start of LRT construction in the city. For this purpose, traffic on Momyshuly Street was partially restricted from Monke bi to Tole bi: two lanes in the middle were closed for vehicles.

Recall that the first line of light rail transport in the city will run along Tole Bi Street to Abylai Khan Avenue. Further, the line will connect with the Almaty-2 railway station. The depot will be located in the industrial zone near Momyshuly Street.

The LRT construction is a key part of modernizing Almaty's transport infrastructure. The project aims to reduce congestion on one of the city's busiest streets, Tole Bi, and improve public transport accessibility. The light rail system is expected to provide eco-friendly and fast transportation.

Temporary inconveniences may occur during construction, but the akimat urges drivers to remain patient and use alternative routes. Additional information about closures will be published on the official website of the akimat.
