35 Indian citizens who violated migration legislation were expelled from Kazakhstan via Almaty airport. All of them exceeded the permitted stay period and continued to stay in the country illegally. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Almaty Police Department, the foreigners' whereabouts were established during raids by migration service officers. After detention, the court ordered their expulsion from Kazakhstan.
The final stage of the procedure took place at Almaty airport. Police escorted the foreign nationals to border and passport control before departure.
In addition to the violators themselves, the hosting parties were also brought to administrative responsibility. According to police, they failed to take timely measures for the foreigners to leave after the expiration of their legal stay period.
"Both foreign citizens and persons hosting them on the territory of Kazakhstan are obliged to comply with migration legislation. Control over compliance with these requirements continues," police reminded.
It is worth noting that citizens for whom Kazakhstan has established a special visa-free regime (including India, China, Iran, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (PRC)) are allowed to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 14 calendar days per entry, but no more than 42 days within 180 days.
Citizens of most EU countries, the USA, the UK, Japan, and a number of other states are allowed to stay up to 30 days without a visa.
For citizens of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, and some other EAEU and CIS countries — up to 90 days.
Citizens of countries with which Kazakhstan has no visa-free regime require a visa.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in 2025, more than 2.6 thousand foreign citizens were expelled from Kazakhstan for violating migration legislation. The most illegal migrants were found in Turkestan and Almaty regions.
