Akim of Bostandyk district in Almaty, Azamat Kaldybekov, at an informal meeting with representatives of the media community, spoke about the development of the district, including what the First President's Park, which was closed for reconstruction in spring 2026, will become. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The meeting took place at the Samgau development and creativity center, where children are engaged in various clubs. According to the head of the district, by the end of 2026, when reconstruction is completed, the park will become the best in the Central Asian region.

"This will be a top-level park not only in Kazakhstan but throughout Central Asia. It will be open and accessible to all categories of children and residents. Various activities are planned there. There will be seven thematic gardens, large playgrounds, a renovated fountain that has not worked for many years. There will be new paths, separate sports zones with workout areas. The southwestern part of the park was previously not used at all. People didn't even go there, and now it is being transformed," Kaldybekov told media representatives.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle shared with readers the first footage of the reconstruction of the First President's Park. Meanwhile, as an alternative, Almaty residents and guests can visit FLOW Park, which opened on June 1.

"Today, this is the best park in the Bostandyk district, opened within the framework of corporate social responsibility. Thank them," said the district akim.

After the opening of the Presidential Park, Kursiv journalists will explore the renovated First President's Park. The cost of its reconstruction, however, has not yet been disclosed.

By the way, in 2025 and 2026, almost all iconic parks and public spaces in Almaty opened in the Bostandyk district. These include the park on the site of the former presidential residence on Gandhi Street, the Geologists' Alley at the corner of Satpayev and Baitursynov streets. Recently, Republic Square was opened and transformed. The renovated promenades along the Esentai River also started working. The construction of the "Japanese Garden" on Bukhar Zhyrau Boulevard is about to begin, where previously, as Akim Azamat Kaldybekov said, a theater was planned.
