Staphylococcus aureus bacteria has been detected in 4 staff members at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School in Almaty, according to the Almaty city sanitary and epidemiological control department. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The sanitary and epidemiological investigation into the mass poisoning of students is ongoing.

"Laboratory tests revealed microbial contamination in individual food samples, and violations of disinfection requirements were also identified. Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was found in four cafeteria workers. They have been temporarily suspended from work," the department said.

Two protocols on administrative offenses have been drawn up. The operations of the MasterFood LLP cafeteria and the RPM School boarding school have been suspended for 60 days.

"Currently, the infection outbreak has been isolated. All 58 patients hospitalized have been discharged in satisfactory condition. No illness has been detected among 961 people under medical observation. Final disinfection has been carried out in the boarding school, the academic building and the cafeteria," the sanitary and epidemiological control department said.

Recall that on October 14, 58 students at the school were poisoned and hospitalized. A week later, the students were discharged from the hospital.
