Almaty's official LRT account has revealed how the rails of the light rail transport, the stops, and the line at intersections will look. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Intersections to be asphalted

At intersections, cars will cross the LRT line, so the rails in these places will be asphalted. The rest of the rail line will be filled with crushed stone.

Curbs on Momyshuly and Tole bi

There will be curbs along Momyshuly and Tole bi streets, the account warns, and cars will not be able to drive onto the rails, except at intersections. The exception will be the section along Abylai Khan street, because due to the narrowness of the street the line will be fully asphalted.

Users' question

"So what is the point of the name LRT if it will not be separated along the entire route? It will stand in traffic jams on Abylai Khan or get into accidents and the schedule will be disrupted. Why can't the LRT be separated along the entire route right away?" users ask in the comments.
