The hydrological situation in Almaty remains stable and is under constant control, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the ministry, due to unfavorable weather conditions, a set of preventive measures was carried out in advance to ensure public safety.
"Notification of the population, preparation of reception points, and putting forces and means on high alert were carried out solely in case of a possible deterioration of the hydrological situation. Evacuation of residents living along the riverbed in the Nauryzbai district was not required," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Specialists are monitoring the water level in rivers and the condition of mudflow-prone areas around the clock.
The ministry noted that specialists from Kazselezashchita continue to work on site. They are conducting continuous monitoring of the hydrological situation and potentially dangerous areas.
The forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as civil protection services, remain on high alert. In case of changes in the situation, they are ready to respond promptly.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that residents of the Nauryzbai district of Almaty living near the Aksai River began to be evacuated preventively. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that four calls were received on the hotline, and residents were temporarily placed in reception points deployed on the basis of district schools.
