A pharmacist from one of the pharmacies in Almaty organized large-scale supplies of potent substances to regions. All members of the organized crime group were detained. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to police, the investigation established that the pharmacist organized the supply of large batches of potent drugs from Almaty to the Aktobe region.
During the special operation, police detained all members of the criminal group. Among them were the organizer, operator, packers, and drug couriers.
It is reported that over a thousand potent medicinal drugs were seized during the detention.
"Illegal trafficking of potent substances entails criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years," reminded the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Daniyar Aubakirov.
Recall that from January 1 of this year, criminal liability for illegal trafficking of potent substances was introduced in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tramadol is dispensed exclusively by doctor's prescription in pharmacies with a special license. For over-the-counter sale of this psychotropic analgesic, pharmacists and medical workers face criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for 10 to 15 years.
