Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov was asked whether Kanye West's sphere could have consumed so much electricity that it caused a blackout in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Minister stressed that such a version of the large-scale power outage was not even considered.
"Can you imagine the Atyrau Oil Refinery? It consumes 90 megawatts of electricity. Here, 600 megawatts were cut off. The sphere consumes, well, let's say 5-10 megawatts. It cannot in any way affect the stability of the southern part of our energy zone," Akkenzhenov explained.
Meanwhile, Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg announced the cancellation of rapper Kanye West's concerts. They were scheduled for October 10 and 11. The show organizers, Say Agency, claim they were not warned about the breach of agreements. The organization received a lease agreement from Gazprom Arena and was supposed to sign it by August 27.
Say Agency assures that the concerts will take place. Meanwhile, the head of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, posted a photo of Ye on her Telegram channel with a caption about the cancellation of his show and accompanied the image with the phrase "I Serve Russia." It can be assumed that the performance was canceled "from above." Judging by Mizulina's post, the reason may be that the rapper's work does not meet traditional Russian values.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported on how Ye's concert in Almaty went. Recall that on August 14, due to an accident, lights went out in most areas of the city, and in the evening a heavy rain with wind began. Due to bad weather, the show was postponed to August 15.
During the performance, fireworks were set off, causing some spectators to be injured, and producer Bayan Alaguzova was outraged by the different conditions for organizing concerts for domestic and foreign performers.
