Almaty will temporarily close a section of Zhumabaev Street due to sewer network reconstruction. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Restrictions will be introduced in the Zhetysu district. From June 16 to July 20, traffic will be closed on Zhumabaev Street from Selskaya Street to Zhansugurov Street.
A detour will be organized via Omarov and Palladin streets for drivers.
"As part of the modernization of urban infrastructure and replacement of worn-out networks in the Zhetysu district, 716 meters of sewer pipeline will be updated. The pipeline was commissioned in 1967 and has exhausted its standard service life," the akimat noted.
The traffic restriction is a forced measure, as the reconstructed section of the network runs directly under the roadway.
At the same time, during the construction and installation works, the supply of cold water and wastewater services to consumers will be maintained in full.
Temporary road signs and indicators will be installed on the site. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to plan their routes in advance and take into account changes in traffic organization.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that repairs on the popular pedestrian street Masanchi in Almaty would begin.
