From July 11 to 16, road safety control has been tightened in Almaty as part of the republican operational preventive measure 'Safe Road'. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.

The measure is aimed at preventing traffic accidents, improving the discipline of road users, and ensuring public safety.

For six days, police officers will work in an enhanced mode. Special attention will be paid to identifying the most dangerous violations of traffic rules.

The police focus includes driving under the influence, driving into oncoming traffic, speeding, driving without seat belts, violations by pedestrians, as well as drivers of public transport, motorcycles, and mopeds.

'Road safety begins with the personal responsibility of every road user. Our task is not only to identify violations but also to prevent tragedies and save human lives. We urge all drivers and pedestrians to strictly follow traffic rules and remember: law and order begin with respect for each other,' said Abdinur Tasybayev, head of the Administrative Police Department of the Almaty Police Department.

The police reminded that compliance with traffic rules is a necessary condition for the safety of all road users.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that two pedestrians died in a traffic accident in Almaty in one day. According to the police department, since the beginning of the year, 24 pedestrian hits have been registered in the city: 23 people were injured, two died, with a significant portion of such accidents occurring due to the fault of the pedestrians themselves.
