In the Almaly district of Almaty, police discovered an apartment where two women allegedly provided paid intimate services. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The police department said it is currently checking all the circumstances under which this "public house" operated.
"In an apartment on Zheltoksan Street there were a 35-year-old resident of the Karasai district and her 20-year-old acquaintance from the Kostanay region. Both admitted to engaging in prostitution. They were taken to the district police department. An investigation is underway," the police said.
The department clarified: if it turns out that the owner knew his apartment was being used for prostitution, he will also face punishment.
The day before, police found four more women suspected of organizing a brothel for sex services in a rented apartment.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that since the beginning of 2026, 430 apartments where intimate services were provided have been identified in Almaty. The owners of the premises were brought to administrative responsibility, and about 750 women were placed on preventive registration.
