In Almaty, a group of young people staged a dangerous driving stunt on Al-Farabi Avenue: a young man and women leaned out of car windows and sunroofs at full speed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The video flooded Kazakh social media. According to the post author, she nearly got into a traffic accident due to the actions of these extreme driving enthusiasts.
"When all of Almaty was shocked by the accident on Al-Farabi, on the same street I almost got into a similar accident because of these, I don't even know what to call them," the woman wrote.
The stunt sparked a wave of criticism in the comments. Kazakhstani citizens called on the Almaty police to intervene and hold the extremists accountable.
"Take measures, as people may suffer due to the negligence of such drivers," urged commenter naz.m.n.
Users also suggested that the video captured graduates celebrating the end of the school year.
"Teachers, principals, why don't you tell graduates that this is not allowed?" asked Kazakhstani user ego_ven.
This incident involuntarily recalls a fatal accident that occurred on Al-Farabi Avenue in late March. Then, a Zeekr driver drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a Mercedes coming the other way.
The accident killed three people — the Mercedes driver and his two female passengers.
Behind the wheel of the Zeekr was 32-year-old businessman Alexander Pak.
Later, a court sentenced Pak to 10 years in prison.
