A transformer substation in Almaty caught fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, open flames were detected and the fire was intensifying. A firefighting headquarters was established at the site. "The forces and resources of the Emergency Department are working on an elevated fire rank. To extinguish the fire, an uninterrupted water supply was organized, foam and water were sprayed," the statement said.
Through the measures taken, the open flame was extinguished and contained. There were no casualties, the ministry said.
