While on their way to work, officers of the Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR) unexpectedly became rescuers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Almaty Police Department shared epic footage of extinguishing a blazing car. According to the department, seeing the burning car, SOBR fighters blocked traffic on the dangerous section and moved people to a safe distance, after which they began extinguishing.
The standard fire extinguisher proved powerless — the flames quickly spread. Then the fighters made a non-standard decision: they stopped a passing watering machine and used its water supply to put out the fire.
"As a result, no one was injured, and it was possible to prevent the spread of fire and possible severe consequences," the department clarified.
