A new modern oncology center with 250 beds will appear in Almaty. The project has already passed state expertise. The medical facility will be equipped with a modern operating unit with robotics, a molecular genetic laboratory, and an automated drug preparation system, which will make it possible to detect cancer at early stages and provide high-tech care. According to the head of the city's public health department, Marat Pashimov, patients here will be able to receive the full range of oncological care — from early diagnosis to high-tech treatment and subsequent rehabilitation.
"The center will include a 24-hour hospital with 250 beds, a day hospital with 80 places for chemotherapy, an advisory and diagnostic clinic, radiation therapy and chemotherapy departments, a modern operating unit with robotic surgery, an intensive care unit, endoscopic and transfusiological centers," the statement said.
Special attention will be paid to diagnostics. In particular, the center will be equipped with modern clinical diagnostic, molecular genetic, and pathomorphological laboratories, where high-precision studies will be conducted to detect oncological diseases at early stages and select the most effective treatment.
The project also provides for the creation of a digital medical archive, a situational center, and a hospital pharmacy department with an automated system for preparing antitumor drugs.
In addition to the construction of the new oncology center, Almaty continues to implement major projects to develop the healthcare system.
Thus, today the metropolis is under construction of ten facilities. Among them are the reconstruction of City Clinical Hospital No. 7, construction of two maternity hospitals, five polyclinics, seismic strengthening of polyclinic No. 16, and an additional building of Children's Clinical Hospital No. 2.
Design and estimate documentation is being developed for another 12 facilities, and construction and installation works are scheduled to begin in 2027.
