A rifle was found near a garbage container in one of the residential areas of Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Police officers seized the weapon and established how it ended up in the trash. It turned out that the registered rifle had been kept in a private warehouse. The warehouse was sold by its son-in-law.

"The new owners, while clearing the building of trash, threw out the rifle along with unnecessary items. Now the actions of the persons involved in this case will be given a legal assessment," police said.

In particular, liability will be considered for the owner obliged to store the weapon in proper condition and for the person who allowed the rifle to be thrown into the trash.

Almaty police recall that timely reporting of suspicious items helps prevent potential threats and respond promptly to incidents.
