In Almaty, an unattended bag was found in the building of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, prompting the evacuation of students and teachers. City emergency services arrived at the scene. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Initially, information spread that a bomb had been planted at the university. According to the Almaty City Police Department, during the inspection it was determined that the bag belonged to one of the students.
No dangerous items were found. Police urged citizens, if they notice suspicious or unattended items, not to approach them, not to touch them, and not to move them from their location.
