In the Medeu district of Almaty, police officers stopped a case of domestic violence after a local resident called the '102' hotline. The woman reported that her husband had been abusing alcohol for several days, behaving aggressively and using physical force against her. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Officers who arrived at the scene confirmed the information. The man was heavily intoxicated and behaved aggressively. During the investigation, an old wound opened up, and an ambulance was called.
Later, the man tried to claim that his wife had inflicted the knife wound. However, this version was not confirmed. He later admitted that he had received the injury earlier under other circumstances.
After receiving medical assistance, the man was taken to a police station. Officers from the unit for protecting women from domestic violence issued a protective order against him.
'The protective order was issued immediately to eliminate further risks for the victim,' police noted.
The police emphasized that timely response to reports of domestic violence helps prevent more serious consequences and ensure the safety of victims. Law enforcement urged citizens not to remain silent about such cases and to immediately seek help when facing threats of violence.
