A woman in Almaty has been held administratively liable for causing a conflict with a supermarket employee over the language of communication. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The incident came to light after a video spread on social media. In the recording, the customer demands that the shop assistant speak only Russian, claiming she does not understand Kazakh.

According to police, the incident occurred at a supermarket in the city. The conflict began near the checkout when the woman expressed dissatisfaction with the queue and demanded an explanation from the administrator. The employee responded in Kazakh, saying that another cashier would arrive soon. However, the customer was not satisfied with this answer.

"Answer me in Russian. I asked you a question in Russian. Please," the woman repeated several times, according to the published video.

The video sparked widespread public outcry. Many social media users supported the shop assistant and criticized the customer's behavior.

Police identified the woman and opened an administrative case against her.

"An administrative case was initiated against her. By court decision, the violator was brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine of 20 monthly calculation indices," police reported.

The department reminded that aggressive and indecent behavior in public places, as well as any provocative actions that could cause discord in society, are unacceptable and entail liability under the law.

Additionally, police urged citizens to maintain public order, show mutual respect, and refrain from distributing illegal content online.
