In Almaty, police have intensified night-time control over motorcyclists: roads are being monitored by operators of the operational control centre and patrol crews. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to police, cameras recorded a group of motorcyclists who were travelling at high speed, changing lanes sharply and performing dangerous manoeuvres. Operators pass information about such violations to the nearest patrols so that they can stop the drivers. Whether the members of this group were detained is not specified in the publication.
Since the beginning of the year, 54 road accidents involving motorcycles have occurred in Almaty, police noted. The department did not provide data on those injured in these accidents.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a passenger bus and a Toyota Highlander collided in Almaty. After the accident, nine people sought medical help. According to preliminary data, the bus may have driven through a prohibiting traffic light signal. Police are establishing the circumstances of the accident.
