In Almaty, before the start of the school year, police officers inspected buses involved in transporting schoolchildren. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Special attention was paid to the technical condition of the vehicles, their readiness for safe operation, documents, and the professional training of drivers.
"The safety of children during transportation is one of the priority tasks. Before the start of the school year, we must ensure that every bus that will deliver schoolchildren daily is in proper technical condition, and drivers are ready to responsibly perform their work. Such inspections are carried out systematically, and control over compliance with safety requirements will continue throughout the school year," noted representative of the administrative police Abdinur Tasybaev.
Identified violations are subject to elimination, and control over the safety of children's transportation will continue.
This was reported in an Instagram post by Almaty city police department (@almaty.police).
In parallel, the city is examining road infrastructure, updating markings near educational institutions, and strengthening patrols at intersections, as from September the transport load on Almaty roads traditionally increases.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Education responded to parents' complaints about the weight of school backpacks.
