In Almaty's Medeu district, traffic will be closed for a full week from October 31 to November 7 due to emergency repair of power grids. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"The restrictions will affect the section from Ular Street to the intersection with Ladushkina Street. Repair work will be carried out in the area of house No. 125 on Ladushkina Street, where a damaged cable is located under the roadway," the company's statement said.

According to Alatau Zharyk Company JSC, the accident occurred on the 220 kV cable power line No. 2353. This line is part of Almaty's ring power supply network connecting the Yermensai and Besagash substations. Due to the cable damage, the network is temporarily operating under an open scheme, which increases the load on other elements of the power system.

To eliminate the fault, specialists will need to open the road surface and concrete tray, gain access to the damaged section, carry out repairs and necessary tests before resuming operation of the line.

AZhK assured that restoration work will be carried out around the clock. After completion, the road surface will be fully restored.

Alatau Zharyk Company JSC asks drivers to take temporary restrictions into account when planning routes. The repair is necessary to restore the standard power supply scheme for the city and the Almaty agglomeration.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his address to the people drew attention to the high demand for electricity. He noted that in the "era of electricity" that has begun, Kazakhstan needs to transform the availability of raw materials into sustainable energy and technological progress.
