In Almaty, a courier on an electric bicycle got into a dangerous situation on the road. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the published video, he was riding on a bike path and had the right to be there, but after the car began its maneuver, the situation quickly became dangerous.
When the car started reversing, the e-bike rider decided to go around the car instead of stopping. Judging by the footage, a collision was avoided, but the dangerous episode did not end there.
After that, the courier, likely working for the Volt service, again ended up in the car's path during a right turn. He managed to brake and then continued driving.
This case clearly shows that on the road it is not enough to simply have the right of way or formally be where it is allowed. It is important to consider the actions of other road users and not try to squeeze through where the situation can change in a second.
Drivers, cyclists, and moped riders should follow traffic rules, keep their distance, and not continue a maneuver if there is any doubt about safety. Sometimes a few seconds of waiting is much better than trying to gain a couple of meters and create an emergency situation.
