A man in Almaty has been detained on suspicion of raping his 65-year-old mother-in-law. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident was reported to a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent by public activist Dinara Tansari. On August 17, the son-in-law came to his mother-in-law's house for tea. The sister-in-law left for work, leaving the two of them alone.
"When the elderly woman was about to pray, the son-in-law raped her. Not a sexual act, but a real rape. The mother-in-law hid this for two days. On August 19, unable to bear it, she told her daughter," says public activist Dinara Tansari.
The daughter immediately called the police. In the evening, they went to the police station. "But they said to submit the examination in the morning, they don't work in the evening. On August 20, they waited half a day in front of the investigator's office and familiarized themselves with the resolution. The resolution did not mention undergoing an examination for rape. It only indicated infliction of bodily harm. Having received the resolution, they went home," says Dinara Tansari.
Experts said the resolution was incorrectly written and gave a sample. The victim returned to the police department. "The mother and daughter contacted me and asked for help. They went to the police again, but they were not let inside, there was a conflict. They entered by saying they would tell journalists. Having received the resolution, they went for the examination again. There, they only took an analysis from the bruises on her body, but no examination was conducted for the rape," says the public activist.
According to Tansari, the experts recommended seeing a gynecologist. "After raping his mother-in-law, the son-in-law came home and told everything to his 16-year-old son. 'I acted foolishly, gave in to emotions. I asked my son to give explanations,' says Dinara Tansari.
Today, an identification parade took place. The suspect came with his lawyer and did not admit anything. Currently, the victim's clothes are being examined. "The suspect's wife told the police that he is a drug addict. During a search of the house, such substances were found," says the public activist.
The suspect is the father of three children, one of whom is a special needs child. The police opened a criminal case regarding the incident, and the suspect was detained. "The police department of Auezov district opened a criminal case. The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. If his guilt is proven, he will be punished according to the law," said the Almaty city police department.
