A fire in a multi-storey residential building in Almaty has left one person injured. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a report of a fire on Mynbaev Street in the Bostandyk district of Almaty was received at the "112" dispatch center.
Preliminary information indicates that the fire started on the balcony of an apartment on the second floor, then spread to an adjacent vegetable kiosk and the balcony of an apartment on the third floor.
Emergency services managed to contain and fully extinguish the fire.
A woman born in 1959 was taken from the second-floor apartment to a medical facility.
The circumstances and cause of the fire are being investigated.
