At Almaty eco-posts, over 13,000 cases of vehicle emissions exceeding established standards have been detected since the beginning of the year, the city administration reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Since the beginning of 2026, more than 116,000 inspections of vehicle exhaust gases have been conducted at 19 stationary environmental posts in Almaty. As a result of monitoring, 13,076 cases of exceeding the established standards for emissions of toxic substances and smoke were identified. Particularly, the most violations were recorded in the Alatau and Nauryzbai districts.
According to the city administration, monitoring of vehicle emissions is carried out on an ongoing basis. This work is aimed at monitoring compliance with requirements during vehicle technical inspections. The purpose of the monitoring is to identify vehicles with emissions exceeding the norm, reduce the level of atmospheric air pollution, and increase the effectiveness of air protection measures.
