The Department for Emergency Situations of Almaty reported a fire in a cafe building on Rozybakiev Street. Rescuers evacuated 15 people. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Firefighting operations
Upon arrival, rescuers found burning ceiling and shelving in the kitchen of a one-story cafe attached to a two-story apartment building. Several gas and smoke protection service units were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Aftermath
The fire was subsequently extinguished. There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is being established.

Previous incident
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on August 25, 127 people were rescued from a smoke-filled high-rise building in Almaty.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire occurred in an apartment on the ninth floor of a 16-story residential building on Abai Avenue in the Bostandyk district. Furniture caught fire.
Rescuers arrived at the scene on an increased call rank. There was heavy smoke in the entrance. Ministry staff set up an operational headquarters and sent gas and smoke protection units to rescue residents. A fire truck ladder was also installed.
