A 40-year-old man in Almaty has been fined 10 MCI — more than 43,000 tenge — for throwing a bottle into the Yesentai River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Zhambyl and Kozhamkulov streets. In footage published on social media, the man is seen throwing a bottle into the riverbed. Police identified the violator after the video appeared online.

Law enforcement officers established his identity and brought him to the Almaly District Police Department for investigation. The materials were sent to court, which imposed an administrative fine.

Police emphasized that every case of urban environmental pollution receives a legal assessment regardless of the scale of the violation.

Previously, cases of administrative liability for violations of environmental protection legislation have also been recorded in Almaty. However, no additional details regarding this specific case are provided.

Recall that Kazakhstan provides for administrative liability for environmental pollution. The court decision in this case has entered into legal force.
