In Almaty, two men called an ambulance and threatened the arriving medical workers with a knife. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ambulance crew that arrived on the call reported the incident to the police. Patrol police officers and the district inspector of the Medeu district police department promptly arrived at the intersection of Kazybek bi and Baribaev streets and detained both men.
According to preliminary data, they were under the influence of drugs. The detainees themselves admitted that they had used synthetic drugs before the medics arrived.
None of the ambulance workers were injured. The detainees were taken to the police station. Currently, all circumstances of the incident are being established, including where the knife came from, as well as the purpose of its storage and carrying.
Each person's actions will be given a legal assessment, the police said.
