Two bloggers in Almaty were arrested for obscene videos and profanity on social media. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The city police department said the videos were indecent and contained profanity.
Timur Nogaibayev, head of the public safety department of the Almaty police, addressed Kazakhstani bloggers, streamers, and social media users, asking them to watch their language in live streams, stories, and reels, as they are also considered public space.
"Social media users must understand that liability is provided for the content of posted materials and statements, up to administrative arrest," he noted.
The police are actively pursuing foul-mouthed bloggers across Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the Abai region, a 26-year-old streamer was arrested for 10 days for a live broadcast with profanity, indecent behavior, and mention of drugs. In the Almaty region, a 22-year-old author of similar content was arrested for five days for demonstrative disrespect for public norms. A resident of Pavlodar received 20 days of arrest for swearing at mothers during a live broadcast.
