By September, 20 parks are planned on vacant lots in Almaty's Bostandyk district. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the district akimat, public spaces will appear on vacant lots along Al-Farabi Avenue, Shashkin, Popov, Timiryazev streets, and others. A total of 3 billion tenge will be spent on these purposes.

"The projects include the improvement of squares and public spaces, construction and modernization of children's playgrounds, renewal of street infrastructure, cladding of pedestrian overpasses, installation of mast lighting supports, and a number of other measures to improve the district," the department noted.

For example, on Radovets Street, lanterns will be installed, a performance area and a fountain will be built. In addition, the public space will feature a children's playground and a sports ground.

All projects are implemented at the expense of businessmen and developers working in this area. As the akimat representative emphasized, this social initiative does not give them any concessions or advantages. The places for improvement are chosen by the authorities, and they may be far from the residential complexes that these companies are building.
