In the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park in Almaty, a ten-meter portrait of Hero of the Soviet Union Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was assembled from lamps. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The event "Fiery Pictures of War" was organized by the Association of Russian, Slavic and Cossack Organizations, the Union of Veterans of Kazakhstan, and the youth patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz".
According to one of the organizers, Semyon Shikhatov, the portrait was not chosen by chance for the commemoration.
"Bauyrzhan Momyshuly is a national hero, one of the most famous heroes of the Soviet Union. He embodies the connection between generations, the courage, bravery and heroism of the Kazakh people and all defenders of the Fatherland," he said.
