Firefighters have contained a large fire at a transformer substation in Almaty's Auezov district; no casualties reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations (DES), the fire occurred at a substation located on Otarskaya Street. Upon arrival of the first units, rescuers discovered open flames. By that time, the fire had developed significantly.
A firefighting headquarters was established at the scene to coordinate operations. DES units responded with an elevated call rank. Rescuers ensured an uninterrupted water supply and deployed several foam and water nozzles.
"The measures taken allowed us to extinguish the open flames. The fire has been contained," the DES reported.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
