Paid parking tariffs will increase in some districts of Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the city akimat, it is proposed to revise tariffs at municipal parking lots for the first time in 10 years. Currently, the cost of one hour of parking is 100 tenge. This tariff has not changed since 2016.
Under the project, tariffs will remain at 100 tenge per hour in areas with low traffic load. In areas with high demand for parking, an increase is proposed:
- 01with medium traffic load — 150 tenge per hour;
- 02in areas with high traffic load — 200 tenge per hour.
Thus, the higher tariff will apply only where demand for parking spaces is high and shortages are observed. According to the project's authors, this will reduce the time spent searching for a free space and increase the accessibility of parking lots.
For residents of buildings in the paid parking zone, the opportunity to obtain a permit and park their car near their home for free will be preserved. Discounts for certain categories of users will also remain.
The project was presented at a session of the city maslikhat.
