A resident of Almaty decided to film a provocative video: he captured police officers and a service car, and during the filming showed a zip bag with a white substance. Now his actions are being checked under a criminal case. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Almaty Police Department, in the video the man used obscene language and displayed a suspicious bag. The author's identity was established — he turned out to be a 43-year-old local resident with a previous conviction.
Police officers detained him and brought him to the police station of the Medeu district. In addition to the criminal case on possible drug-related crime, the man was brought to administrative responsibility for petty hooliganism. Materials on this episode were sent to court.
Now an examination must determine what exactly was in the zip bag, as well as its composition and quantity. "Police officers will have to establish the origin of the demonstrated substance, its composition and quantity, as well as check the possible involvement of the detainee in drug trafficking," the department reported.
This incident caused a wide public resonance. Many citizens on social media condemned the man's provocative actions and supported the police's prompt response. Some experts note that such actions are illegal and may damage the reputation of law enforcement agencies.
The Almaty Police Department urges citizens to obey the law and not to obstruct the activities of law enforcement agencies. The police also ask to report any information related to drug trafficking.
This case highlights the intensified measures to combat drug crime in the country. Law enforcement agencies regularly conduct operational and preventive measures to prevent the spread of drugs.
