Almaty has seen a surge in ambulance calls due to the ongoing heatwave. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the city administration, more than 33,600 calls were received by emergency medical services in the first two weeks of July alone. Particularly common were cases of high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases including ischemic heart disease and acute myocardial infarction. Patients with acute cerebrovascular accidents were also rushed to city hospitals.

Clinics in Almaty continue to monitor patients with chronic diseases, providing necessary medications and regular health monitoring. Doctors advise residents to avoid prolonged sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., drink plenty of water, and wear light clothing and hats. If health deteriorates, seek medical help immediately.

The situation is also challenging in Astana. On July 14, the air temperature rose to +38.6°C. Previously, the hottest July 14 was in 1992, when the thermometer reached +35.3°C.
