Almaty continues to connect Abay Avenue and Sain Street to the Greater Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the city administration's press service, all three projects are currently 50% complete. Alongside the road, a bridge over the Aksai River is being built, as well as overpasses over BAKAD and railway tracks.

"Simultaneously, the purchase of land plots continues. Along Abay Avenue, 71 out of 82 plots have been purchased, along Ryskulov Avenue – 172 out of 190, and on Sain Street this work has already been completed," the press service added.

The administration promises that it will be possible to access BAKAD via Sain and Abay this year. The completion date for the Ryskulov section has not been specified. These streets would significantly help residents who currently spend at least two hours commuting to the city center. However, heavy traffic jams are likely, especially immediately after opening.

Earlier, "Kursiv Avto" reported that experts have begun a comprehensive diagnostic of the Greater Almaty Ring Road after several years of operation.
