Doctors in Almaty saved a 13-year-old teenager who fell from the eighth floor. The child fell from a height of about 24 meters. This was reported by the city health department. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"The teenager was taken by an ambulance crew to City Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1. Upon admission, his condition was extremely serious," the statement said.

Doctors diagnosed the child with a head injury, brain contusion, multiple limb fractures, and damage to the organs of the chest and abdominal cavities. He also had traumatic shock.

The patient was immediately admitted to the anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care department. Doctors performed a full-body computed tomography scan to determine the extent of the injuries.

According to Medetali Makilbekov, head of the hospital's intensive care department, doctors provided emergency treatment to stabilize the functions of the child's vital organs. During the first two days, resuscitators worked to stabilize the child's condition.

On the third day, the teenager was transferred from intensive care to the traumatology department. In total, a medical team consisting of traumatologists and resuscitators performed four surgeries.

"A fall from the eighth floor is a very severe injury. The fact that the child survived is a great achievement in itself. Our team immediately began providing the necessary medical care. Given the nature and severity of the injuries, a decision was made to perform four surgeries. Now the patient's condition allows for a favorable prognosis," said Kurmetbek Toktar, deputy director of City Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1.

According to him, the child will need further treatment, recovery and rehabilitation measures.
