A 34-year-old man is suspected of killing his stepfather in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 6 in the Turksib district of Almaty. The 34-year-old man argued with his stepfather and stabbed him to death. The suspect was apprehended at the scene and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigative measures are currently underway. The motives for the murder are being determined. Police have ordered forensic examinations to establish all circumstances of the crime.
The press service of the Almaty City Police Department reported that a pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 99 of the Criminal Code (Murder). If proven guilty, the suspect faces up to 15 years in prison.
