The Almaty police department reported that hundreds of violations involving scooters and mopeds were detected during raids on city roads. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Over the weekend, 298 scooters, three mopeds, one electric bicycle and one motorcycle were placed in impound lots.
In the Zhetysu district, police identified 152 traffic violations, including those related to vehicle operation and passenger transportation.
"Road safety directly depends on the discipline of each road user. Therefore, our task is to timely identify violations that could lead to accidents and prevent their consequences. Control will be continued on an ongoing basis, especially in areas with high traffic intensity and where increased accident rates are recorded," the police noted.
The police urged drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, not to risk their own lives and the safety of others.
