Capabilities of the new complex

At the new complex, patients will be able to undergo examinations, receive surgical treatment, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Its composition includes:

  • 02a clinical diagnostic center with 350 visits per shift.

Minister's statement

"Behind every oncological diagnosis is a human fate, a family, hope for recovery and a full life. Therefore, for us, the construction of the new center is not just the erection of a building. It is an opportunity to help thousands of people, to ensure timely diagnosis and modern treatment," Alnazarova said.

Equipment

The complex will be equipped with clinical diagnostic, molecular genetic, and pathomorphological laboratories. According to the ministry, this will allow diseases to be detected at early stages and treatment to be selected taking into account the patient's individual characteristics.

A digital medical archive, a situation center, and a hospital pharmacy department will also be created at the center. The preparation of antitumor drugs is planned to be automated.

Oncology situation in Almaty

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 38,000 oncology patients are registered for dispensary observation in Almaty. Over 3,500 operations are performed annually, more than 70% of which are minimally invasive.

The city's population is about 2.4 million people. Its growth increases the need for examinations, specialized treatment, and hospital beds. The new complex should expand the capabilities of the oncology service.
