Unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are expected in Almaty on June 24, reported RSE Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, conditions conducive to the accumulation of pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere are predicted in the city.
As experts explained, UMC occur when weak wind, calm, fog, and temperature inversion combine. In such conditions, harmful impurities can accumulate near the ground, leading to deterioration of air quality.
The level of atmospheric pollution is also affected by wind speed, air humidity, temperature, and precipitation.
During unfavorable meteorological conditions, residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other pollution sources.
People with chronic respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and allergic reactions are advised by specialists to carry necessary medications.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that storm warnings were issued for most regions of Kazakhstan on June 24. The country expects rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, dust storms, strong winds, heat, and high fire danger.
