During cancer screenings, malignant neoplasms were detected in 225 Almaty residents. In 215 of them, cancer was detected at an early stage, the Ministry of Health reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Since the beginning of the year, 237,000 residents of Almaty have undergone cancer screenings. Examinations are conducted free of charge at polyclinics at the place of attachment, within the framework of the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care, including for uninsured Kazakhstanis.
During the examinations, 225 cases of malignant neoplasms were detected. In 215 cases, cancer was detected at an early stage. This will allow treatment to start earlier and increase the chances of a successful outcome.
Since the beginning of the year, over 14,000 patients have received care at the Almaty Oncology Center. More than 1,100 people underwent surgery, half of which were minimally invasive, i.e., without incisions.
"The earlier the disease is detected, the higher the chances of successful treatment. Therefore, it is important to regularly undergo free screenings. If a malignant disease is suspected, the patient undergoes examination according to the 'green corridor' principle," said Zhanna Kuzhayeva, Director of the Almaty Oncology Center.
Earlier it was reported that cancer patients in Kazakhstan are surviving more often, and the level of early cancer diagnosis in the republic has increased.
